As the Portfolio and Affordability Lead you will manage a portfolio of projects and programmes and the recruitment and affordability of the WLB Directorate.
You’ll manage a high performing team of three working across WLB with Directors, income leads, business managers and project & programme managers.
This is a fixed term 12 month assignment and would suit a high performing individual looking to develop their exposure, experience, and skills for the next step in their career. During the assignment the design and implementation of the OneEA programme for E&B will be taking place, meaning you will not just be managing this work but also involved in how we shape and improve the service for the whole business. You will also have a role in planning and preparing for the next Spending Review.
To do all this you will need to work independently with excellent people and matrix management skills. You will be able to clearly commission and then co-ordinate work across disparate groups of people and bring together complex information into a simple narrative for senior leaders.
You’ll need to comfortable working with uncertainty and providing the best possible advice to support decisions even where information is incomplete. Being able to both think strategically while taking steps to continuously improve tactically will be central to success in this role. You will, of course, need to be highly organised and self-motivated.
You’ll have an inclusive incident management objective in your development plan, so we’ll support you to find an incident role to suit your needs and circumstances. Appropriate training will be given.
You’ll join the Head of Business and Portfolio team reporting into the WLB Business Manager. We are a small, dispersed team that works in an integrated way across the WLB business and with Regulated Industry and FCRM.
The team ensure there is effective planning, performance, and risk management across WLB. We oversee the allocation of WLB funding across the business, support the Director WLB and wider leadership team and ensure excellent quality briefings & correspondence.
