Full-Time Fiscal Accountant
Job Description
SALARY: $31,290-$45,371
LOCATION: Niceville
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
Duties and Responsibilities
The Accountant position is directly accountable to the Executive Director of Finance and Accounting for the following duties and responsibilities:
The individual filling this position is expected to play a positive role in helping the College change as necessary to effectively carry out its mission.
- Maintain Cash Reconciliations between bank and cashiers.
- Process Direct Cash Receipts for funds received.
- Prepare standard monthly journal entries for long distance, postage, tolls, etc.
- Reconcile and post journal entries for fuel card usage during the month.
- Prepare various invoices for facility rental and EOC utilities.
- Verify Inventory from inventory system matches Banner Finance, prepare journal entries as needed for correction.
- Process Accounts Payable checks twice weekly
- Process Student Refund payments through Bank Mobile disbursement system.
- Compile Bank Reconciliation items for Assistant Controller monthly.
- Ensure proper scanning of support documentation
- Notify Executive Director of Finance and Accounting of any deficiencies and problems that arise from the performance of said duties.
- Complete annual mandatory compliance training.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by Executive Director of Finance and Accounting.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as backup for Payroll Technician
- Serve as backup for Travel and Expense Specialist

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Associates Degree in Accounting
- Accurate typing skills and familiarity with Windows related programs.
- Efficient operation of calculator.
- Good verbal and written communications skills.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Email Applications.
- General knowledge of office procedures.
- Neat and professional appearance.
