Overall Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Brand Manager, Jamieson Brand, Canada BU, the Associate Brand Manager, Jamieson Brand, Canada BU participates in designing and delivering end to end plans and execution that results in the Jamieson brand consistently delivering its sales, profit, market share, and customer ranking goals. This position is responsible for support within assigned categories and need states for the Jamieson brand within the Canadian market and plays a key role in driving the brand to best-in-class performance behind “General Manager mindset” leadership.  This position is responsible for supporting the management of all brand activity within the Canadian market and is expected to help drive profit and revenue growth through industry-leading new product introductions, marketing execution, trade integration and financial management. For this role, you will collaborate with various internal teams to conduct market and competitive analyses, design promotional campaigns and develop profitable positioning and pricing strategies.

Specific Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Support the development and implementation of annual operating plans (AOP) for assigned categories/need states, that brings to life the 5-years strategy and achieves aligned objectives and targets via a cross-functional team.
  • Lead product strategy development for the assigned categories/need states, ensuring that insights and data are utilized to form compelling business cases that clearly identify consumer need, product reason to believe, communications strategy (if relevant), competitive assessment, and sales & profit potential.
  • Build and execute ongoing reporting mechanisms that showcase sell-in, sell-on, and sell-out metrics.
  • Conduct ongoing SKU management process in partnership with Sales, S&T and Operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all Jamieson and Canadian regulatory standards and requirements.
  • Participate in the development of creative strategy, copywriting, and in-market execution
  • Help in identifying trade marketing needs and opportunities, developing pricing and distribution strategies while working closely with the commercial strategy and sales teams
  • Help maximize long term sales and profitability within the context of approved brand strategies
  • Contribute to the development of overarching marketing strategies

  • Net sales for area of responsibility.
  • Trade and marketing spending to budget for area of responsibility.
  • EBITDA for area of responsibility.
  • Brand equity growth.
  • Market share growth.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements

  • College or University Business Degree; MBA an asset
  • 2-5 years marketing experience, preferably within a CPG environment
  • Strong business acumen and passion for delivering results
  • Experience with product pricing, packaging and positioning
  • Ability to conduct market analysis (and the know-how to use and interpret spreadsheets and charts)
  • Excellent time management skills (ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines and multiple stakeholders demands)
