Proposal Writer, Proposal Operations
Here at Passport, the majority of our sales come through a competitive procurement process, requiring Passport to answer Request for Proposals (“RFPs”). Located within the Revenue Operations team, the Proposal Writer is a primary resource to support Passport’s Sales and Client Success teams with formal proposal responses and processes. The proposal is a critical step in bringing new and renewal business to Passport and the Proposal Writer plays a vital role in our continued success. The Proposal Writer works hand-in-hand with the other members of the Proposal Operations team and internal stakeholders to construct clear, concise, and powerfully written responses. In this role, the Proposal Writer ensures the value proposition of Passport’s current product offerings are effectively communicated by way of writing and editing proposal components to put forth the most compelling solutions possible for our clients
Responsibilities:
- Manage and update content library and previous bids to provide compliant proposal responses to all general, non-technical requirements
- Ensure proposal responses are written with a consistent “voice” and all content is grammatically corrected and punctuated
- Work with the Design team to incorporate graphics
- Work with the Technical Writer and other Passport teams to create, own, and maintain RFP templates & content in such a way that all necessary information is accurate and up to date.
- Establish scalable proposal processes and content organization to better support future proposals & provide visibility to internal stakeholders.
- Assist Proposal Managers in the compilation of bid writing, ensuring all projects include quality content, are completed along predetermined timelines, and deliver a high quality product.
- Work with Sales, Client Success, and the Proposal Managers to develop, write, and incorporate “win themes” into each proposal.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 – 5 years of experience in technical, proposal, or content-writing roles or with SaaS experience; government experience is a plus
- Strong grammatical skills
- Proven track record of consistently delivering and meeting conflicting deadlines without sacrificing quality of work
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) with the ability to follow instructions and work effectively across internal and client teams
- Demonstrated ability to think critically, analytically and independently
- Amazing time management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple, complex projects at the same time
- Ability to learn quickly and on the fly, and then apply learnings to improve future work efforts
- Can manage ambiguity with confidence
- Comfort with change, and ability to be nimble/resourceful through change
- Ability to make connections across business and marketplace
