The role: The Vice President of Architecture is responsible for partnering with the SVP of Technology to design and develop a scalable and reliable system that spans multiple data centers accommodate millions of users worldwide. This role will lead a team of technical architects in both long-term solution planning as well as delivery of daily tasks that are critical successful product delivery. Also, the VP of Architecture will partner closely with the product and development teams to ensure the company maintains best practices in systems and software design, development, and deployment, balancing short-term and long-term needs and strategies. This position is responsible for demonstrating strong technical leadership and leveraging their years of hands-on technical engineering experience to hold the organization to a high standard of technical excellence, ensuring that cost and schedule pressures do not jeopardize solution quality and performance.

What you will do:

• Collaborate with Product and Development leadership, as well as internal and external stakeholders to help clarify business requirements, technical plans, and roadmaps; ensures the ability to decompose large requests into smaller ones that can be executed sequentially or in parallel.
• Act as an advisor to the SVP of Technology and maintain responsibility for delivery of future state technical details for product development.
• Guide the Architecture team through the process of both designing and partnering with the Engineering team to deliver the next generation of Groups360 products and codebase.
• Define and design technical solutions that meet contractual technical requirements.
• Lead the Architecture team to successful delivery as they work to deliver a comprehensive technical blueprint of the current state of the platform.
• Provide senior mentorship to members of the Architecture team.
• Establish routines and processes that support successful delivery of product development.
• Determines functional and physical interface and interconnect specifications requirements for solution components that interface with customer-furnished information and equipment (i.e., CFI and CFE), data, software, or facilities.
• Develop and enhance system and application architecture and articulate decisions impacting quality, security, and scalability.
• Take a leading role in ensuring solutions are secure and in compliance with applicable security standards such as PCI and GDPR.
• Maintain ownership over the delivery of current and planned state architectural blueprints and roadmaps.
• Conduct advanced research on new technologies and techniques, and advocate new tools, frameworks technologies and standards to guide the engineering team on the system development.
• Partner with the SVP of technology to define and promote best practices, standards, and policies – focus on elegance and simplicity.
• Manage and govern all RESTful API endpoint definitions (REST, HATEOAS).
• Work with Data leadership team to define and implement enterprise data and metadata structures.
• Provide architectural consulting to internal projects and corporate partner project initiatives.
• Support product development teams, with design and implementation oversight.
• Participate in vendor evaluations, and technical due diligence.
• Develop, communicate, and deploy EA Governance and Compliance processes, including auditing for all production systems.
• Present technological findings, strategies, and discoveries to technology and company leadership.
• Identify architectural risks and propose alternatives and solutions.
• Develop architectural metrics and produce architectural status reports and architectural maturity reports on a regular basis.

Education and experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years’ experience in software development as an individual contributor.
• 4+ years’ experience leading development teams and/or technology.
• Expertise in Object Oriented Languages and Design Patterns.
• Expertise in Cloud/SaaS application development.
• Expertise in Micro-Service/SOA environments.
• Expertise in Restful API’s.
• Expertise in SQL and Data storage.
• Expertise in ETL and Batch processing.
• Experience with dynamic languages (i.e., Ruby, Python, JavaScript, etc.).
• Experience with frameworks (i.e., Rails, ReactJS, etc.).
• Experience with TOGAF and other architectural frameworks.

Additional eligibility qualifications:

• Strong empathy for customers via customer support.
• Must have valid Driver’s License.
• Excellent verbal, written and group communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent organizational & analytical skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Strong proficiency and supporting experience working within an Agile delivery organization.

Core Business Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. M-F, Hybrid; these hours may vary depending upon your position and work requirements.

Status: Full-time, Exempt

Location: Brentwood, TN. Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote).
