The Manufacturing Engineer optimizes the asset utilization and addresses any technical needs of the production operation.  You will develop and improve various processes for production operation, which include but are not limited to Spin testing, CNC machining, and dimensional inspections.  

Position Duties:

  • Support CNC Operation:
    • Program CNC, CMM, and optimize machining operation.
    • Select cutting tools, research, and define the most efficient speed and feed rate for 
      a given material.  
    • Plan audits and validates the accuracy & consistency of the outputs and of the CMM 
      measurements. 
    • Improve the operational process while ensuring the quality of the output. 
  • Support spin test operation (Production spin):
    • Manage the spin test facility and its assets. Eliminate unexpected downtime.
    • Lead the troubleshooting efforts. Monitor and address any abnormalities. 
    • Work with design engineers and experts. Manage projects and lead relevant design 
      development efforts such as the development of a new spin tooling. 
  • Work cross-functionally as a member of the production team:
    • Interface with the customers as needed.
    • Support budget studies, quoting, and sales efforts.
    • Support the quality process development and compliance effort.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in engineering discipline (Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial preferred). High school diploma acceptable with vocational/technical school training and equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical goods and manufacturing engineering.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Experience and strong competency in programming CNC and CMM.
  • Must read/understand engineering drawings.  
  • Must have knowledge in manufacturing/industrial engineering concepts and machine components.
  • Strong computer skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, etc. Experience with SAP preferred or other ERPs.  
  • Experience with drafting and the use of Solidworks (or other CAD).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to respond promptly and skillfully to customer inquiries.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze and reason through on technical issues
