What we’re looking for:
We are seeking a poised, and entrepreneurial sales leader to grow our community solar business by partnering with leading developers and financiers in need of off-take and servicing solutions for their solar farms. Community solar is the fastest-growing segment of the solar market, and Arcadia has been a driving force for the market’s shift toward simple, consumer-friendly product offerings that enable massive scale. In the 7 years since launching our community solar services business, Arcadia has established an industry-leading position in community solar with several marquee partners in place providing new and repeat business – and the Associate Director of Energy Services will play a key role in continuing to increase our market share & deliver value to Arcadia members.
To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to develop an extensive network within the community solar market, become a trusted and influential partner to developers and financiers, drive opportunities from early stages all the way through to contract execution, and be a collaborative teammate who can adapt to the dynamic demands of a rapidly growing organization. The successful candidate will also need to possess strong team management skills and provide mentorship to business development associates and managers across the team.

What You’ll Do:
- Cultivate new community solar development partners and close sales
- Cultivate acceptance of Arcadia’s business model among financiers, and continue moving the market to consumer-friendly terms
- Negotiate win-win contracts with new and existing partners
- Grow to lead select business development team members
- Develop visibility into future pipelines of new and existing partners
- Maintain detailed and organized records of sales opportunities for executive leadership team
- Collaborate with in-house regulatory team to influence Arcadia’s market development strategy and priorities
- Maintain outstanding subject matter expertise in community solar policy and market intelligence
What will help you succeed:
Must-haves:
- 7+ years of experience in a B2B business development, project M&A or project finance role.
- 7+ years of experience structuring, negotiating, closing, and leading complex, multi-million dollar contracts
- 3+ years of people management/mentoring experience
- Experience selling solar technology, products, or services to developers, or comparable experience on the buy-side
- Sophisticated financial acumen and demonstrated ability to build credibility & rapport with financiers
- Charisma, impeccable interpersonal skills, and excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Ability to synthesize sophisticated information into a simple, persuasive pitch
- Strong intuition for business and excellent judgment, particularly under pressure
- Indisputable discretion and maturity; commitment to maintaining our trustworthy, consumer-centric reputation and company values at all times
- Organization and strong attention to detail
- Ability and intent to travel frequently to meet with clients
- Positive, entrepreneurial attitude
- Passion for our mission, sustainability, and helping drive a clean-energy future
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience working in the community solar market and corresponding subject matter expertise
- Experience in renewable energy project finance or project M&A work
