As a Dance Specialist you will help to lead Y Arts programs that are designed for people of all ages and experience levels and serve as a platform to ignite a passion that can lead to a lifetime of arts appreciation and participation. If hired for this position you will create and teach dance class lesson plans, lead virtual arts classes, create choreography and support annual productions. You will take a Lead role in the annual dance recital production including dress rehearsals and performances.
Are you a good fit?
- You have 10+ years of formal dance training or comparable experience.
- You have 5+ years of experience as a dance teacher and/or teaching assistant.
- You feel comfortable teaching classes, pre-school through adult, beginning through intermediate levels.
- You have a positive attitude and previous experience with varying ages and diverse populations.
- You firmly believe that the arts should be open to everyone, regardless of artistic ability, experience, or financial circumstance.
- Able to complete Child Abuse Prevention training on first day and other online or in-person training as required.
Starting Wage: $14.49+ per hour – Depending On Experience
Classes: Beginner to advanced; Ballet, Hip Hop, Tap, and Jazz
Hours: Part Time – Up to 25 hours per week
