Are you mechanically inclined? Do you prefer hands on work? As a Maintenance Technician at the Y, you will work with our Facilities team, for our members to perform preventative, routine and emergency maintenance for the building, building support systems and membership program equipment. You may also perform custodial and grounds keeping tasks as requested or required to maintain a clean and pleasing appearance of the building.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance for the building
- Operate and maintain the swimming and hydrotherapy pools at appropriate functioning levels
- Maintain the mechanical and maintenance areas in a safe and sanitary condition at all times
- Maintain product inventory listings, Material Safety Data Sheets and other projects as directed
- Interior cleaning including, vacuuming carpets, cleaning windows, cleaning spills, sweeping or mopping floors, removing scuff marks from walls and floors, cleaning bathrooms and locker rooms, gum removal, dusting, odor control, and trash removal
- Exterior cleaning and care to include lawn and garden maintenance, exterior building, and maintenance and repair of walkways and parking lots

- You are able to learn and practice the safe and correct operation of the equipment assigned to perform the required tasks.
- You are able to learn and practice the correct procedures and techniques used in cleaning the facility.
- You are able to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
- You are able to report and record maintenance requests.
- You have knowledge of cleaning methods and custodial, maintenance, and office equipment.
- You have a basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
Starting Wage: $21.49+ per hour, depending on qualifications
Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week
