Full-Time Manager of Corporate and Foundation Relations

Job Description

Essential Functions:
The Manager of Corporate and Foundation Relations will secure funding in support of Center on Halsted’s mission. Working closely with the Chief Development Officer, this staff member will be responsible for cultivating relationships with local and national corporate partners and engaging support from corporate foundations. This position will also provide leadership in writing and coordinating relevant staff contributions toward the process of submitting timely applications. The Manager of Corporate and Foundation Relations will also coordinate internal staff and resources to ensure accurate intermittent and final reports. This position will also coordinate site visits, corporate volunteer engagement, and other meaningful contact with donors and prospects.
Job Description
• Research, cultivate, and solicit prospective corporate and foundation donors. Research sources of all potential grants and gifts for operating, program, event sponsorship, capital, and/or the endowment.
• Write agency proposals and general correspondences for current and prospective funding agencies, corporations, corporate event sponsors, and foundations.
• Manage engagement of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and corporate volunteer opportunities.
• Implement and manage funding compliance systems including Raiser’s Edge, for funding regulations, grant requirements, and reporting deadlines by working with other management staff and program directors.
• Prepare all related application and stewardship materials. Manage corporate volunteer events. Enlist assistance of development and administrative staff, as needed, for support activities.
• Effectively prepare and guide the Chief Development Officer in the capacity of cultivation and stewardship of existing and potential corporate foundation donors—planning how and when to leverage their time and resources as it relates to relationship management.
• Coordinate with Manager of Foundation and Government Relations on master calendar for donor/prospect cultivation, solicitation.
• Create, implement, and evaluate the annual and multi-year budget plans to maintain and expand contributions from corporate and foundation sources.
• Produce proposals, solicitation letters, acknowledgements and reports for corporate and foundation partners.
• Collaborate with Program to seek and develop ways to increase restricted and unrestricted revenue from corporation and foundation agencies within a strategic framework. Assist in setting fundraising goals and objectives; communicate progress towards goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Skills/Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, and/or corporate and foundation relations.
• Exceptional communication, writing, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Deep knowledge of the LGBTQ communities, particularly at the intersections of identity and within the primary program areas within Center on Halsted’s work, particularly, housing and health.
• Remarkable time management, prioritization skills, and project management. Familiarity and functional comfort with Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Office applications.
• Comfort with donor engagement. Proven record of successful grant writing/fund raising activities with wide-range of funding sources, including individual, corporate and foundation. Knowledge of local, state and national funding sources.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Non-Profit Management. Master’s Degree preferred.

Reporting Relationships

The Manager, Corporate and Foundation Relations reports to the Chief Development Officer. Also, the Manager, Corporate and Foundation Relations works closely with appropriate program staffs.

*THIS POSITION PAYS BETWEEN $70-74,000 ANNUALLY
