Freelance Product Designer (UI and UX)
Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced mobile UI designer with skills in animation and gamification to bring some well-thought out design and delight to our app.
You’ll be adept at creating experiences as beautiful as they are effective. You should be comfortable working within established brand identity systems and pattern libraries.
Role Overview:
- Early stage start-up environment, handling multiple complex projects at once.
- You’ll be designing gamification systems, animations and screens to drive desired user behaviors.
- You’ll work day-to-day in a self-organizing product pod with colleagues from engineering, product, design and data. You will therefore have a high degree of autonomy to propose solutions and build features that achieve your product pod’s OKRs (engagement and peer to peer experiences).
- Conduct human-centered design projects from user journey to wireframe to final UI design with a focus on driving desired user behaviors.
- Build tools for influencers and other users to share knowledge and engage with each other.
- $50-$65 hourly range
Ingredients for Success
Here are some of the things that will make you a great addition to our team:
- 3-5 years experience in designing beautiful experiences for consumer mobile applications
- Strong portfolio of animations and illustrations used ideally in mobile applications to drive and incentivize user behavior
- Experience using data to identify unseen behaviors, or areas of optimization.
- Sufficient understanding of HTML5, CSS3, Javascript and React applications to understand their inherent front-end capabilities and how to push that envelope
- Strong modern UI design foundation, typography & Illustration skills.
- Strong UX foundation, with product design experience.
- Create UI animatics by taking the visual designs of menus, buttons, navigation flows and animating them according to Daylight’s quality bar and sty
- A flexible UI skill set and can jump from early / no-code design stages (wireframes, user flow charts) to polished visual design (iconography, typography, layout).
- Background in banking highly preferred, fintech accepted
