POSITION TITLE: PROGRAM ASSOCIATE 

Location:         Remote/Online (Default)/In person meetings, as needed 

Organization:        Other: Women for Reform Judaism 

Employment Type:    Full Time, Benefits Eligible      

Department:        Women for Reform Judaism (WRJ) 

Reporting to:        Manager of Events & Leadership 

Start Date:        as soon as possible 

Salary Range:        $50,000 – $55,000 plus competitive benefits package 

THE ROLE 

Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ) seeks a Program Associate to strengthen its mission. The Program Associate will support WRJ events, programming, advocacy, and partnerships with our lay leaders. WRJ is a network of Jewish women working together to empower women and communities worldwide through the bonds of sisterhood, spirituality, and social justice. Founded in 1913, WRJ is the women’s affiliate of the Union for Reform Judaism, the central body of Reform Judaism in North America. WRJ’s work is to strengthen the voice of women & female identifying individuals worldwide and empower them to create caring communities, nurture congregations, cultivate personal and spiritual growth, and advocate for and promote progressive Jewish values. WRJ educates and trains sisterhood and congregational leadership in the areas of membership, fundraising, leadership skills, advocacy for social justice, and innovative and spiritual programming. Through its YES Fund (Youth, Education, and Special Projects), WRJ provides financial support to the various institutions of Reform Judaism.   

WHAT YOU WILL DO  

The WRJ Program Associate reports to the WRJ Manager of Events & Leadership and is responsible for the following:  

EVENTS 

  • Promote events and information and connect with attendees using numerous communications tools, including social media and the internal Yammer network.   
  • Support all WRJ meetings and conventionsThe staff member in this position may have ownership of specific special events.  
  • From start to finish, oversee and coordinate workshops for conferences and other gatherings, including brainstorming topics, inviting and tracking speaker RSVPs, compiling AV and setup needs, creating slides, allocating space/technology as needed, and communicating and following up with presenters. 
  • Provide support for Board meetings and other leadership gatherings (logistics, registration, AV/tech, catering, etc.). 
  • Serve as main registrar for event registration system to develop and manage event registration system, including record updating/editing, report building and running, and customer assistance/troubleshooting. 
  • Manage logistical and programmatic elements for various conference/events programs. 
  • Assist with event logistics such as ordering and preparing office supplies, materials, decorations, and gifts; research and solicit vendors for events as needed. 
  • Provide support to lay leaders. 

PROGRAMS 

  • Work with other WRJ staff members to plan, promote, and manage funding and content for programs, advocacy initiatives, and more. 
  • Work with Board members/lay leaders on committees to brainstorm and move work forward.  
  • Work with committees to develop and implement educational and leadership programs and webinars in the areas of leadership skills, advocacy, and more.  
  • Work with the Engagement team, as needed to support new programs as they are developed.  
  • Manage virtual programs and webinars using Zoom. 

ADVOCACY 

  • Work with committees to develop and implement advocacy programs and initiatives; examples may include Reform Pay Equity Initiative, and DEI efforts. 
  • Work with Marketing & Communications team to promote advocacy efforts. 
  • Support the WRJ Resolutions process for the Legislative Body meeting.

  • Collaboration & Communication. Effective oral and written communication skills and able to utilize different forms of relevant media. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work as part of a team, ask for help, and take direction. 
  • Technological savvy. Strong computer and technology proficiency, including the Microsoft Office Suite, database management, content management systems, Zoom webinar/video conferencing management, social media, and electronic communications.   
  • Passionate. Passionate about social justice, events, and women’s leadership development.  

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience   
  • Occasional evening and in-person meetings, as needed
