Full-Time Accountant I
Job Description
- Reconcile daily deposits balance to the collections reported using our STARS, SADLS, NCFS, and Bank of America Cash Pro systems, Wells Fargo reports, MILES, and Core Banking System.
- Reconcile and balance each Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) System -generated revenue reports for daily SAP entry for each revenue source. This reconciliation involves ~1,000 DMV general ledger accounts.
- Run queries using each of our systems populating relevant revenue information. Revenue reports are compared to the deposit report and the NCFS certifications.
- Recognize and analyze discrepancies in revenue reports.
- Work with business partners to correct issues and implement process improvements.
- Test change requests and system improvements.
- Follow up, ensuring and ensure corrections are made to the proper account(s) documenting actions.
- Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GaaP) related to cost, government, and non-governmental accounting.
- Working experience analyzing financial data to review, process, and correct accounting entries and adjustments in the accounting system/procedures.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles/practices and government accounting methods/procedures and financial practices.
- Skills coordinating with IT staff and end-users to solve problems affecting SAP R/3 functionality.
- Bachelors degree in accounting; or
- Bachelors degree in business administration, finance, public administration, or a related discipline, and
- 18 semester hours of accounting; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
