Job Description
Atrium School seeks a skillful, experienced, and creative full-time 2nd grade teacher, to begin in the 2022-23 school year.
Atrium School is a progressive, inclusive PreK-8th grade independent school in Watertown, MA. Our program encourages academic and intellectual curiosity, creativity, and exploration while fostering each child’s intellectual and personal growth. Our students are original thinkers, who develop confidence in themselves and respect for others within a joyful, vibrant community of nurturing and challenging teachers, engaged parents, and enriching community partnerships.
Teachers in the elementary grades at Atrium work in co-teaching pairs and actively create innovative curriculum. Second and Third Grade teachers also closely collaborate when planning and teaching writing, science, social justice to multi-grade groupings of students. We seek candidates with particular strengths in math and science, as well as a strong understanding of literacy development, social studies, and social emotional learning. Atrium’s program and school culture strongly cultivate inclusion and an active sense of social and environmental justice in classrooms where collaboration, problem solving, and kindness are prized.
