DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for a talented System Performance Engineer Team Lead to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Engine Business Segment in Columbus, IN
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• This system focused position utilizes the core competencies of thermal and fluid sciences in the specialized areas of combustion and emissions science, mainly focused to DOC (Diesel Oxidation Catalyst) & DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) components, using advanced analytical and experimental approaches to answer key questions about the performance and architecture of the system & component.
• This role leads a team to deliver robust feature (performance and diagnostic) tuning calibrations and appropriate documentation to demonstrate compliance to applicable Engineering Standard practices and requirements within a given timeline. Communication of status and roadblocks with program management is key for success.
• Provides support and guidance to influence technical direction within a project team (new and current products) and continues to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role. Opportunities for growth include leading the development and improvement of work processes within core team function and across to neighboring systems and business units.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• College, university, or equivalent Bachelor degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines needed. Bachelors in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is HIGHLY preferred.
• Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant (engine/aftertreatment) discipline area with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.
• Project management lead experience with proven planning skills to ensure deadlines are met.
• On the job experience with Matlab/Simulink experience.
• AVL Boost Software and Controls integration and simulation environment experience is highly preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
