Job Description
DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Define and socialize architectural designs and pattern
• Provide thought leadership, develop strategies and methods for analyzing and profiling data, and assist lower-level Data Analysts in application of methods to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of data analysts globally.
• Summarize descriptive and diagnostic analytics on data sources and review results with senior leadership.
• Identify needs to develop and introduce new machine learning tools to improve data analysis processes and results.
• Apply high level analytical techniques on data sets to find patterns and anomalies in data sets.
• Create techniques and standards for visualizations and dashboards to help the company interpret and make decisions with the data; create complex reports and dashboards on analysis results applying advanced capabilities of business intelligence tools and technologies.
• Analyze complex, diverse data sets from multiple sources to identify data quality, coherency and integrability issues and reduce data redundancy; provides recommendations and designs solutions to resolve issues throughout the data lifecycle including but not limited to all aspects of data architecture.
• Work with the rest of the Cummins Digital and IT organizations to influence and drive analytics adoption
• Coach and mentor junior members in the team
REQUIRED SKILLS:
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• College, university, or equivalent Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required
• Minimum of 5 years of related professional experience in this field is required.
• Knowledge of the latest technologies and trends in data science is highly preferred and includes:
– Advanced methods, tools and solutions for analyzing and profiling data
– SQL query language execution on NOSql and SQL sources
– Exposure to Agile software development
– Exposure to IoT technology
– Data profiling tools, technologies and coding
– Data Catalog tools and technologies
– Business intelligence tools and technologies
• Ability to assess situations, technologies and ideate for new proposals, research market solutions and drive the vision for analytics organization.
• Experience and knowledge working in an Azure environment – Azure Data Lake Store, Databricks, Hive, Azure Synapse, SQL DBs, Analysis Services, and Power BI is preferred.
