DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are looking for a talented Acoustics Engineering Manager to join our team specializing in Acoustics and Engineering. This person will be responsible for running our ATC. The ATC is our state-of-the-art hemi-anechoic acoustic testing center. Completed by Cummins Power Generation, this beautiful new facility has all the technical resources to help us push towards innovation and product excellence. This role is 100% onsite, but some reporting and calls can be done off site.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Strategic thinking and planning to come up with technical directions for management and product/program teams for new product development
• Intellectual property development and usage for new product design and development
• Understanding regulation impact or regulation advantage for shaping Cummins technology and product development
• the development of technically capable people often across multiple technical sites within a business unit or corporate, and making these people available to perform duties necessary to satisfy the businesses technical needs
• Delivering technical talent in a research, technology and product development environment. Directly manages the resources that maximize workgroup productivity in support of business needs and implements near term business strategies with a focus on execution
• Using appropriate methods and tools to translate stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements to which designs are developed
• Establishing acceptance criteria for the system of interest through analysis, allocation, and negotiation, and tracking the status of requirements throughout the system lifecycle
• Assessing the impact of changes to system requirements on project scope, scheduling, and resources; creating and maintaining information linkages to related artifacts.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• A PhD with prior Technical/Engineering Management for a highly specialized area in computational and experimental noise analysis while leading a team to provide solutions to internal and external customers
• Demonstrated success leading projects and influencing outcomes through either direct or indirect reporting relationships
• Demonstrated track record of technical problem solving, quality decision making, providing technical direction and leadership to a project team(s) and conflict resolution
• Experience with multi-channel high-speed data acquisition system, such as LMS Test.Lab or B&K PULSE and running the Acoustic Technical Center.
• Experience with acoustic noise modeling software packages using Boundary Elements, Finite Elements and Statistical Energy Analysis
• Technological advancements planning to set goals and work towards developing the technology
• Ability to solve Acoustic’s issues in the field to satisfy Customer requirements and in product development, develop patents, develop new tools, and methods in the Acoustics field.

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
