Job Description
Personal assistant needed for funny, active, gender fluid autistic 15 year old in Nassau County. Your duties involve assisting the young person with life skills and self-care tasks and errands in the community to help them become more independent.
You must be 18 years of age or older, and have at least a high school diploma. You must also have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and proper car insurance. You will need to undergo training sessions, be fingerprinted and pass a background check. Must be fully vaxxed for COVID19 and follow necessary public health protocols related to same. You will also need to undergo a physical exam as part of the hiring process (paid for by the employer).
Your hours are flexible (evenings and/or weekends) with a maximum of 28 hours per week.
Some of your mileage costs, and your meals, will be either provided to you or reimbursed to you. After working steadily on the job for about 3 months, you may be eligibile for medical and u nion benefits. Annual pay raises and an opportunity to work additional hours with a pay differential after 6 months on the job.
You do not have to be LGBT+ but you must be willing and able to honor and use the client’s preferred pronouns and witness their expressions of their gender identity as they present them, without judgment, redirection or any form of correction or punishment (and yes this is a critical and nonnegotiable requirement of the job).
