WHO YOU ARE
You are a self-starter with experience leading a team with enthusiasm. You enjoy solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about advancing the space industry. You will participate in advanced space system design and development projects from concept through detailed design. You will perform technical research, design, and development engineering on early proposal, project, and/or program development activities. You will develop future mission architectures, operations concepts, spacecraft, payloads, and their subsystems.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced degree in Engineering
- Five (plus) years of experience in aerospace engineering and manufacturing
- Expertise and experience with one or more space systems engineering and/or satellite subsystem disciplines
- Experience with satellite tool kit
- At least 4 years of experience leading a team
- Have led a successful spacecraft mission
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain technical budgets
- Perform system design, analysis, and subsystem component selection & evaluation tasks necessary to deliver high performance spacecraft
- Hire and lead an engineering team and ensure proper management processes
- Develop and evolve mission CONOPS
- Support the development of Service Level Agreements with Outpost customers
- Develop, in collaboration with team members, interface specifications and other design documents
- Develop test procedures and participate in the integration and test campaign
- Assist with program & product management
- Build and establish engineering standards and best practices

- Ability to navigate uncertainty while maintaining objectivity and transparency
- Strong familiarity and experience with Astrodynamics, Satellite Tool Kits, Space Systems Architecture Development, Space Systems Engineering, and Spacecraft Subsystems
- Supporting the design, development, integration and test of satellite systems.
- Understanding of spacecraft systems environments
- Understands what is – and what is not - needed for high quality spacecraft systems
- Experience with the complete lifecycle of spacecraft development: design, build, test, and fly
