DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for a talented Controls Software & Telematics Test Engineer to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Corporate Organization in Columbus, IN / your remote home office.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Ensure the functional excellence of Cummins telematics products through lab testing and hands on engineering investigation
• Develop and lead validation processes and methods for current and future telematics products and features
• Drive resolution for problems discovered through root cause analysis using engineering tools & technical resources
• Create engineering procedures and tests both manual and automated (with tools from National Instruments, Vector, etc.) based on Cummins requirements and standards
• Work directly with cross functional engineering teams to solve problems and serve as an advocate for the team
• Learn & apply new technologies impacting telematics at Cummins (AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, and Cyber Security, etc.)

REQUIRED SKILLS:
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• College, university, or equivalent Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required. Post-graduate (Master’s) in Engineering degree is preferred.
• 2-3 years Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.
• Experience in collaborating with multiple teams and effective communication.
• Prior Validation Experience (with requirements analysis, test plan creation, validating DVP&R tasks, identifying issues, and raising defects/change requests, presenting in design reviews, preparing documentation, storage and version control methods etc.) is desirable. Good to be familiar with Verification and Validation methodologies (various types of testing and their uses etc. – Black box testing, smoke testing, sanity testing, regression testing etc.)
• Knowledge of CAN/Datalinks software, protocols and testing.
• A good understanding of electrical systems and controls (particularly engine controls or in the automotive space).
• Knowledge of Telematics and IOT Core preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
