TAPCO Credit Union has an exciting opportunity as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).
This position is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, DEI initiatives, training and development, and compensation. The CHRO provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the executive management team, shareholders and the board of directors. Keeps abreast of current industry and community status to ensure TAPCO remains competitive in its HR policies and programs. Serves as a member of the Management Team and contributes to the establishment and execution of the Credit Union strategy.

What you’ll do:
- Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the company’s mission and strategic vision.
- Develop HR plans and strategies to support the achievement of the overall business operations objectives.
- Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior manager of each department or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues.
- Work with the company’s executive management team to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the company.
- Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive compensation and benefit program that reinforces TAPCO’s ability to attract, retain and motivate a quality workforce. Provide counsel and guidance on compensation issues related to internal promotions, new hire compensation and market/equity adjustments. Recommend appropriate benefit plans.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance/improve employee relations as needed.
- Ensure that plans, policies and procedures are in accordance with laws, regulations, industry trends, and further credit union initiatives.
- Develop a budget, annual plan and business goals for the department. Approve department expenses. Monitor expenses against budget and provides monthly comparison report to Management.
- Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation and benefits globally.
- Provide leadership and direction to supervised area staff. Ensure that staff is well-trained, effective and optimally used. Monitor individual performance and effectiveness. Conduct performance reviews annually. Implement corrective actions as needed.

- Have a Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Have 15+ years’ human resource experience.
- Have 5+ years’ management experience.
- Are proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point).
- Have strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with staff, board members, external partners and members.
- Have an excellent understanding of employment law practices and principals.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Are able to work independently.
- Are able to handle confidential information with discretion.
