The Company:
We are a Colorado Department of Education (CDE) approved facility school and partner closely with several local school districts to provide intensive services for our students. Our nationally recognized approach has achieved superior results through our structured environments, teaching strategies based on behavioral intervention, and data collection. Using Applied Behavior Analysis, we identify, with families and teams, the needs of each student to create an independent and fulfilling life. The Position:
The Instructional Assistant’s primary role is to supervise students and attend to their educational needs, physical/emotional health, and safety while recognizing their worth, affirming their abilities, and striving to promote dignity in all relationships. This involves collaboration with directors, specialists (BCBAs, Speech Language Pathologists, and Occupational Therapists), and Lead Teachers for the creation and implementation of Individualized Education Programs, and oversight of student programs related to all goals and objectives. Other key responsibilities include:
- Case management of assigned student.
- Attend and actively participate in weekly clinical meetings.
- Transport/accompany students in the community and implement community-based instruction.
- Be a role model for students and create a positive culture with co-workers by emulating professional attitude, language, and communication.
- Complete certification and stay current in physical and verbal de-escalation strategies, and support during student crisis situations as necessary.
The Location:
This position is at our school-age campus in beautiful Boulder, Colorado!
Qualifications:
- A commitment to working with young people with developmental disabilities.
- One year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and basic knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis preferred.
- Minimum age of 21.
Pay:
The salary range for this position is $27,163 to 37,413/year
- Offers will typically be made in the bottom half of the listed range. TJS takes into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees. In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, a potential new employee’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
