Job Description
The Mediavine Marketing team is currently looking to fill the open position of Graphic Designer. This is a multifaceted role for a multi-talented designer. We’re looking for a versatile digital designer with some print and other skills.
The Marketing team produces all of Mediavine’s educational content (including blog posts, Facebook Lives, videos, product trailers, presentations, email newsletters, social media and a podcast), as well as all events, both in person and digital. We are searching for the latest member to add to our growing team!
The Graphic Designer role is responsible for maintaining the visual brand of Mediavine, as well as its services and products, across a wide range of materials, along with the other designers on the Marketing team. The Graphic Designer role will display skills in graphic and digital design including typography, layout, imaging, illustration and color theory as well as a deep understanding and mastery of visual brand guidelines. They will also take care to understand Mediavine’s many ad and product offerings to make them easily understandable to our diverse audience.
The Graphic Designer will work with the Marketing team in the creation of brand/logos, social media and blog graphics, design of digital presentations, illustration, photography and editing, management of visual brand assets, design of swag products, animation, newsletter design, event design and website maintenance.
The Graphic Designer reports to the Director of Marketing, the Chief Brand Officer and will collaborate directly with the team of designers and/or freelancers to ensure all finalized collateral is as Mediavine as it can be. They will also liaise with the UI/UX and Product teams.
Requirements
Essential Requirements & Duties (others may be assigned):
- A competent multitasker who has advanced training in digital design
- A minimum of 3-5 years of in-house or agency experience
- Strong sense of typography, fluency in Pantone, lover of color (especially teal) and skilled in proofing and color matching
- Working knowledge of all Adobe Creative Cloud programs, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Premiere and After Effects. Canva experience is a plus.
- Strategic thinker who brainstorms proactively, is a natural problem solver and can meet tight deadlines
- A highly self-motivated individual who seeks out ways to contribute without being asked
- Comfortable communicating ideas and presenting designs to others, as well as receiving feedback and critique putting it into action
- Adept with WordPress and has some knowledge of CSS and HTML (such as the ability to code a newsletter template and add a CSS class to the corporate website).
Bonus skills include:
- Familiar with content marketing and/or blogging
- Webpage layout experience
- Working knowledge of social media and experience with YouTube
- Animation experience
- Illustration experience
- Strong sense of typography
