JOB FAMILY DESCRIPTION

Leads Servicing Technology Product Innovation (STPI) Execution operations team(s) and is responsible for staffing and coaching a team of skilled Agile Scrum Master, Product Owner, Development, or Testing professionals in delivering on organizational goals. Accountable for providing Agile and role-based expertise, support, and development opportu nities aligned with adding benefits and value to STPI and Black Knight delivery objectives.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Defines, communicates, and implements the vision and strategies for effective Scrum Master execution across STPI
  • Defines and develops best practices, processes, and policy, to ensure alignment with corporate strategy and goals
  • Understands each employee’s skills and proficiencies, provides coaching and career development, assists in setting performance and employee development objectives, and conducts performance appraisals and talent management.
  • Partners with multi-departmental leadership and other stakeholders to identify needed resources, prioritize allocation of team resources, and assign team members to scrum team roles.
  • Ensures that representation is available and present for executive review meetings
  • Recruits new team members as needed
  • Directly manages and is a servant leader to a value stream, Scrum Master team, ensuring that scrum team objectives are delivered to achieve benefits realization.
  • Actively partners with Agile Coach, other STPI people leaders, and Agile Release Train Program team on mentorship and training opportunities
  • Coaches to clarify assignments and deliverables; mentor team in role-based practices; addresses quality of work issues
  • Escalation point for problems, risk mitigation, or security vulnerability resolution as needed.
  • Focuses on continuous improvement, identifying gaps and opportunities. Recommends, and implements solutions.
  • Communicates effectively to senior management the achievements and performance levels of the team.
  • Communicates with team members to provide job-related information as well as changes to company policies and procedures, and any general announcements.
  • May assume a scrum team role for critical deliverables.
  • Acts as an interface to the internal audit team as needed
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL GUIDELINES

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.

SAFe role-based certification is highly preferred

At least one additional Agile Certification is a plus (e.g. Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), Scaled Agile Framework Practitioner (SAFe-SP), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Successful track record of leading, coaching, and/or mentoring Information Technology professionals
  • Ability to set clear expectations, manage team performance, motivate, and develop staff with multiple skill levels, and build high morale among team members
  • Servant leader focused on developing other leaders, delivering value and continuous improvement
  • Cultivates an environment of trust; welcomes and embraces diverse opinions
  • Ability to interface with different company business units and work in a fast-paced technology driven environment
  • Ability to interact effectively with executives at both Black Knight and in client organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate sessions involving complex issues, multiple stakeholders at all levels, and competing priorities, resolving issues effectively and reaching agreement when there are widely differing viewpoints
  • Extensive, demonstrated experience in working/leading in a Lean Agile delivery environment
  • Mastery of metrics and the ability to use metrics for team coaching and improvement objectives
  • Knowledge of financial services and software industries and their standards highly preferred
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, team, conflict management, organization, and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical and non-technical information to any audience
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results through collaboration
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and carry out assignments that are sensitive in nature

JOB FAMILY LEVEL

Intermediate level managerial role. Manages and coaches a team of STPI Execution Scrum Master professionals. Responsible for providing team with the tools, coaching, and training needed for success. May be responsible for participation on a lean agile team in a Scrum Master role. Highly skilled with proficiency in a Lean Agile Technical specialty. Typically requires more than seven (7) years of related Agile, Project/Program Management, Product Management, Product Ownership, Business Analysis, Development, or Testing experience, at least two (2) years of prior experience as a manager of people, and/or at least two (2) years of leadership responsibility for large functions. SAFe role-based certification highly preferred. Other Lean Agile certifications may also be considered.
