Full-Time Social Marketing Account Manager

Summary:

At PRR, our clients rely on us to engage and inspire communities to understand what’s happening around them and take action when necessary with the greater good in mind. That’s social marketing. Our clients are those government agencies, organizations, and businesses that focus on transportation, public health, and the environment. Whether it’s assessing Oregonians’ attitudes about the health harms of excessive alcohol consumption, engaging historically hard-to-reach audiences near new King County bus routes, or informing Washington residents about new statewide laws—our approach focuses on creating meaningful connection with our audiences through data, sincerity, emotional connection, and transparency.

The social marketing Account Manager will support these efforts through helping to plan, produce, and implement social marketing campaigns and strategies across PRR practices and sectors. Candidates with experience effectively engaging audiences that may use a language other than English, are Black, Indigenous, or People of Color, or otherwise have a cultural experience that deviates from mainstream U.S. white culture are highly encouraged.

Duties and Responsibilities

Social Marketing

  • Plan/Strategize: Independently develop or contribute to communications plans that include organic and paid digital media strategies (for integrated projects across PRR practice areas, but namely within social marketing)
  • Create content:
    • Write messaging platforms, social media content, web copy, and other assets
    • Collaborate with the Creative Studio design and video teams to develop content for client campaigns
  • Participate in efforts, as lead or support, to engage key audiences in client campaigns, including multi-cultural audiences and audiences who use languages other than English

Client Relations

  • Set and maintain high quality control standards for all communications to clients
  • Establish effective working relationships with PRR project teams, clients, vendors, and communities
  • Provide excellent customer service, including recognizing and acting on opportunities to add value to scoped work
  • Maintain client confidentiality

Project Management

  • Manage/support multiple projects and deadlines on time and within budget
  • Track tasks appropriately to meet deadlines and delegate work efficiently
  • Complete timesheets and expense reports on time and with accurate information
  • Create or contribute to internal and client-facing project progress reports, agendas, and work plans
  • Meet regularly with the project manager, principal in charge, and support staff on client accounts

Required Skills/Attributes

  • Understanding of and experience building paid and organic strategies to reach audiences through digital and social media
  • Strong written communication, with the ability to write and develop content in English key audiences in a variety of styles including websites, social media copy, and informational handouts
  • Demonstrate strong editing and quality control, including understanding of AP style, active voice, and plain talk principles
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to cope with multiple deadlines
  • Ability to read, speak, and communicate in English
  • Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint
  • Interest in transportation related work including public transit, active transportation, transportation equity, mobility, local and regional growth planning, environmental sustainability, public waste disposal and sustainability, public health, and healthcare

Desired Skills

  • Experience developing marketing strategies for audiences who use languages other than English, are Black, Indigenous, or People of Color, or otherwise have a cultural experience that deviates from mainstream U.S. white culture.
  • Experience planning and overseeing virtual and in-person meetings/events
  • Experience working with the media, creating pitches, and writing press releases

Experience/Education

  • 3-6 years demonstrated experience in the required skills
  • At least two (2) years of experience working in professional service/agency setting and/or government agency communications highly desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in non-profit communications, government communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a similar field
