Full-Time Controller

As the Controller, you will be responsible for managing the corporate accounting and tax compliance functions at DomainTools. Your experience and insightful thinking will deliver recommendations for maintaining and building scalable accounting and finance processes to successfully position DomainTools for continued growth. At DomainTools, you will work as part of a small but highly productive team of smart and engaged individuals. Reporting to the CFO, this position will require extensive and effective cross collaboration with our revenue operations, sales, account management, marketing, people operations and technology groups as well as to external parties.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

● Leadership – Provide day to day leadership, coaching, mentoring and professional development to a very talented finance team, which includes an accounting manager and accounting staff.

● Financial Reporting – Deliver on time and accurate internal monthly and quarterly financial reporting including financial statements, financial metrics, analyses and commentary. Ensure compliance with monthly bank reporting requirements. Oversee annual financial statement audit.

● Budgeting/Forecasting – Drive the annual and ongoing budgeting process and support all functions in the preparation and understanding of their budgets. Provide oversight and analyses for monthly budget to actual reporting.

● Performance Management – Monitor SaaS benchmarks and financial and operating metrics to measure the operational performance and growth.

● Payroll – Oversee bi-weekly payroll process and commissions tracking and calculations.

● Commission Planning – Collaborate with sales and account management leaders to design and implement sales and account management commission plans.

● Accounting Best Practices – Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures and ensure compliance with these policies and procedures.

● Financial Controls – Maintain and improve a strong internal control environment.

● Tax Compliance – Ensure federal and state tax compliance and the accurate and timely completion of all federal and state tax filings.

● External Parties – Serve as primary contact for outside auditors, and US federal and state tax consultants.

Skill & Requirements:

● Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required

● Minimum 10+ years accounting experience with 2+ years controller experience and 5+ years Big 4 public experience

● Strong knowledge of technical GAAP

● Must have management experience successfully supervising, coaching and mentoring a team

● CPA is strongly preferred

● Experience at a high growth technology or SaaS company

● Detail-oriented with both the ambition and willingness to roll up your sleeves and dive into the details

● Self-starter with strong organizational skills to be able to effectively manage multiple projects

● Strong ethical standards

● Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required

● Experience with NetSuite Accounting Software and Salesforce CRM a plus

● Positive attitude with a desire to produce high-quality results

● History of working effectively in a small-team environment

● Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
