Job Description

Would you like to share your passion for youth development? Would you like to use your knowledge and skills to provide successful preschool and toddler programs? As the youth program director, you will plan and lead a wide range of preschool programs. This will include teaching, developing and supervising all preschool and child watch programs for ages 6 weeks to 7 years. Through your leadership, instruction, and motivation you will ensure members experience high quality youth programs that build strong youth and families.

 

In this position you will be able to use your skills to:

  • Develop and plan curriculums and coordinate class schedules in conjunction with other staff and programs to enhance participation levels.
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise and coordinate volunteers and interns to aide with general programming needs.
  • Assist and organize special youth and family events related to Youth Programs that are open to members and nonmembers.
  • Strive to enrich the YMCA experience by introducing members to new programs, staff, members and volunteer activities.
  • Communicate with parents as needed (discipline, homesick/illness, support, questions, etc.)
  • Assist the staff leadership team in reaching Annual Campaign goals through annual giving, major gifts, and/or endowment by telling the Y story and raising charitable dollars to fulfill the mission.

Are you a good fit?

  • You are committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • You have two years related knowledge and experience that includes supervision, fiscal management, program development, staff and volunteer development.
  • You have experience in planning, organizing, and implementing age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
  • You can keep current on preschool and parent/child activity trends while developing a full range of programs to meet the needs of youth and family in the community.
  • You have demonstrated skills in customer service, public relations, organizational skills, communications, supervision, computer knowledge, and file maintenance.
  • You have (or are able to obtain) current Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen certifications.
  • You are excited to assist the staff leadership team in reaching annual campaign goals through recruiting campaigners, making personal asks and supporting branch events.
