About Your Role
The Vice President of Commercial Real Estate will manage new investment opportunities from existing clients and expand our existing base of operating partners. You will source and evaluate investment opportunities from these partners for the RealtyMogul Platform. Your impact will be immediate and critical to successfully scaling RealtyMogul as the leading online real estate investment platform.
Though we are based in Los Angeles, this role is fully remote.
Must be qualified to work in the US.
What You’ll Do:
- Source equity investment opportunities for the RealtyMogul broker-dealer through relationships with owners, operators, developers and brokers
- Generate new relationships and manage existing relationships with sponsors to ensure RealtyMogul is top of mind for their future equity capital needs
- Represent and promote RealtyMogul’s platform through conducting road shows in preferred markets and attending industry events
- Maintain current and accurate log of deal data and sponsor and originations activity in SalesForce for weekly pipeline reviews and management reporting
- Thoroughly analyze investment opportunities including review of the property, location, comps, capital stack structure and sponsor experience to ensure the transaction is a suitable investment to be posted on the Platform
- Present investment opportunities to committee providing a comprehensive overview of the strengths, weaknesses, and merits of the transaction
- Work cross-functionally to drive great outcomes for clients internally and externally, partnering with marketing, operations, legal, accounting and asset management
- Collaborate with in-house and third party counsel to negotiate legal documentation including term sheets, operating agreements, and subscription agreements
- Be an exceptional manager. Lead, coach and provide feedback to Associates/Analysts. Truly care about your team members well-being and support them to attract and retain top-tier talent
Who You Are:
- 10+ years of demonstrated business development/private equity real estate experience
- Mature and coachable professional that is ready to step into a role focused on managing relationships and driving production
- Substantial experience analyzing investments, reviewing financial models and presenting opportunities to committee
- Comfort and fluency negotiating and navigating cross functional teams with multiple stakeholder interests
- Comfort and fluency reviewing JV equity operating agreements
- Professionally persistent and graceful and composed under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment where iteration is the norm
- Experience with multiple commercial real estate asset classes a plus
- Either active Series 7 or Series 82 (or ability to acquire within 90 days of hire)
Expected comp range for this position is $125,000 – $165,000 base + bonus + equity
