Full-Time UX Manager (Remote)
Job Description
SUMMARY
Responsible for defining an organization design strategy and growing a UX team that delivers products in support of business and technology goals. Drives a DesignOps vision and maturation of an infrastructure to support professional practice for User Experience design and user research.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborates with other teams to gather requirements, create visualization concepts, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes for clients
Manages UX operations budget and cost center
Manages UX professionals and provide coaching, mentoring to encourage continuous development
Creates the future for enterprise design systems and UI standards
Determines the direction of user experience research and usability studies to optimize user experiences
Directs creation of user flows, annotated wireframes, and clickable prototypes which enables developers to build great user experiences
Reviews UX and UI designers’ deliverables and provide necessary feedback
Collaborates with engineering leadership to align UX and development activities in an agile environment
Stays abreast of new and innovative trends in the information architecture discipline
Focuses on growth, high morale, and retention of team and provides support in resourcing conversations and decision making
Collaborate with back-end development, visual design, product management, and customers
Study how users feel about a system, evaluate perceptions of: ease of use, value of the system, utility, efficiency in performing tasks, etc.
May assist with new user interface testing and participate in usability reviews
Translate user needs and business requirements into features and functionality for web/mobile experiences.
Performs other duties as required
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience
Requires ten 10+ years of experience in a UX or equivalent role
Requires 5+ years of management experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree
Skilled at rapid prototyping (Invision experience preferred)
Experience with at least one of the following frameworks: Angular, React, or Vue.js
Ability to showcase both hands-on experience as well as leadership experience with internal employees and clients
Proficiency in common wireframing tools
Experience with responsive design across multiple device types and contexts
Knowledge of front-end development technologies and a solid understanding of HTML, CSS
A strong portfolio that showcases a track record of design leadership, end-to-end experience ownership, and design excellence
Ability to communicate concepts in a clear and compelling way to audiences of all levels of understanding and levels of seniority
Strong interpersonal, partnership, and influencing management skills
Proven experience working in an Agile development environment
Strong understanding of design, usability, and research best practices
Experience flexing between design strategy and planning and design execution
Experience designing for mobile, tablet and desktop applications
Experience creating a pattern library or design system
Dedication to completing projects and tasks with passion and a relentless pursuit of excellence
Proficient in design tools (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, InDesign, Visio, etc.)
The target pay range for this position typically starts at $130k – $150k.
