Full-Time Testing Lead

Job Description

This role is for OpsC2 Testing Lead at Kessel Run. 

Who we are

We are the Air Operations Center (AOC) Weapon System (WS) 10.1 Program Management Office (PMO).  We engineer, integrate, test, field, and maintain an evolving weapon system comprised of approximately 100 major subsystems consisting of a variety of commercial off the shelf and government communications and electronics equipment.  The AOC WS provides command and control capabilities for joint and combined forces at AOC locations across the globe.  We support warfighters that need access to information and capability today.  A key functional component of the AOC 10.1 PMO is the Test team, who oversees and manages all aspects of Test for the AOC enterprise.

The Position

The AOC 10.1 Test Lead is responsible for coordinating test events and associated activities with external testing agencies. The Position requires program management, test management, and/or engineering experience with comprehensive understanding of testing requirements for programs under DOT&E oversight.  Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating test risk.  Innovative thinker to explore testing methods to reduce risk for formal test events (e.g., DT/OT) and potentially shorten the time frame of formal test events. Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to the audience, including external stakeholders and organizations.  Understanding of AOC 10.1 Program Management Office processes preferred but not required.

What You Will Do

As Testing Lead, you will carryout and/or oversee the following:

  • Oversee Test Plan development through collaboration and coordination with multiple test organizations, such as the 45th Test Squadron and 47th Cyber Test Squadron, Eglin AFB, FL and 605th Test & Evaluation Squadron, Hurlburt Field, FL in weekly meetings, monitoring test events and reviewing and coordinating on test plans
  • Oversee test execution during Agile Release Events (AREs)
  • Review Post-Test reports (Quick Look Report, NSI memo, SOTR) and continue collaboration with test agencies and Cyber
  • Execute and document Deficiency Review Boards (DRBs)
  • Coordinate Air Combat Command (ACC) Deficiency Report (DR) acceptance letter for functional Cat I deficiencies
  • Coordinate list of DR fixes to be validated in future test of assessment events
  • Coordinate Test and AOC deficiency issues across ACC, SPO and Test organizations
  • Coordinate and draft changes to Test & Evaluation documents (e.g., Test & Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), Integrated Test Team (ITT) Charter, Joint Reliability & Maintainability Evaluation Team (JRMET) Charter, etc.)
  • Chair ARE and Developmental Test (DT) Test Readiness Review (TRR)
  • Provide test status updates to AOC 10.1 Program Manager at weekly staff meetings
  • Organize and co-chair ITT meetings
  • Review and coordinate test support Statement of Capabilities (SOCs) to acquire test support from external test agencies, such as 45th Test Squadron, Eglin AFB, FL
  • Lead and support meetings, such as weekly GCCS-J Stakeholder Meeting, Enterprise Management Review (EMR), and Change Review Board (CRB)
  • Manage Test budget for operator travel
  • Coordinate approval of operator travel funding in support of test event execution

  • You are able to travel if needed and maintain a valid passport.
  • You are a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain at a minimum a Secret-level U.S. Security Clearance. (see eligibility requirements here)

This is a Federal civilian service position within the United States Air Force. We are hiring at the equivalent of a GS-12 up to GS-13 level for this position. This means you can expect a base salary of $66,829 to $103,309 multiplied by your locality rate, based on your experience. You can find your locality definition here and see the pay tables for the GS scale here. Our headquarters is located in Boston, MA; for a Boston-based employee, this would translate to a range from $86,283 to $133,382.
