Full-Time Team Manager
Job Description
Phoenix Futures is looking to recruit a passionate and solution focused Team Manager for our Derby City team within our community substance misuse service.
As a Team Manager, you will passionately lead and drive your team, have line management responsibilities and will have responsibility for the day to day management of the Derby City office. You will manage a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive community-based treatment service, involving oversight of the delivery of effective interventions though meaningful structured key working and group work. You will be confident in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external partnership agencies, promoting the service and its outcomes to commissioners and stakeholders. You will be highly motivated and innovative with team and service development, ensuring high ethical and professional standards of care and practice are met.
The Role
As a Team Manager, we are looking for someone with previous experience within the field of substance misuse, self-motivated, can work on their own initiative, but more importantly as part of a team and possess good leadership, communication and organisational skills. The ideal candidate will be confident, dynamic and forward thinking, have experience of line management, safeguarding, partnership working and working with people presenting with drug, alcohol and associated issues, and have a keen understanding of recovery.
About You
To join us as a Team Manager at Derby City Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service, you will need:
- Relevant experience of working in health and social care, ideally within the field of substance use, mental health or another comparable field.
- Evidence of effective partnership working and the ability to network for the benefit of the client and service.
- Evidence of managing a busy caseload or tasks and excellent organisational skills.
- To be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook and Word and be familiar with database management systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Understand complex issues presented by people in the community.
- Determined, with a drive to succeed and a willingness to learn.
- Passionate and enthusiastic about making a real difference to the lives of people we support.
Other organisations may call this role Senior Practitioner or Recovery Co-ordinator.

The Service
Working in partnership with Derbyshire Healthcare Foundation Trust based in St Andrews House Derby with free on-site parking. We provide community support for people with drug and alcohol problems. We offer advice and guidance, one-to-ones and group sessions, support from harm reduction nurses, prescription services, and needle exchange.
