Duties and Responsibilities
Student Services Coordinator/Counselor of the NWF State College Collegiate High School (CHS) is directly accountable to the Assistant Principal of the Collegiate High School for the following duties and responsibilities:
The individual filling this position is expected to play a positive leadership role in helping the College effectively manage change.
- Coordinates and implements counseling/academic advising for the Collegiate High School including:
- Course and program advising (high school and college)
- Class schedule development
- Career counseling adjustment counseling
- Academic advising for the Early College CTE Program
- Review and analysis of student placement tests and other assessment activities
- Represent the Collegiate High School on the Academic Advising Network
- Coordinates and implements related enrollment services functions for the Collegiate High School including:
- Admission and registration of students
- Maintenance of student records
- Review of records for graduation requirements (high school and college)
- Coordination of Collegiate High School Bright Futures program
- Processing and monitoring student add/drops and withdrawals
- Serves as a member of the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) team to serve ESE students and parents with placement and support. Provides direct or indirect service to identify ESE students as recommended by the Individual Education Plans.
- Serves on the Threat Assessment Team at CHS.
- Coordinates and administers the Collegiate High School testing and assessment activities, including PERT, EOC’s, ACT, SAT, PSAT, PLAN, LASSI, and other assessments
- Monitors and tracks student attendance for FTE reporting and student/parent contact
- Serves as an advocate in the community for the Collegiate High School mission and the students
- Completes mandatory annual compliance training Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in counseling, student personnel services, guidance, or a master’s degree in a related field required
- Minimum two years’ work experience in an educational setting
- High school or community college counseling experience required
- Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Florida high school graduation and testing requirements
- Experience with Exceptional Student Education (ESE)
