Full-Time Staff Accountant
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with developing short-term, mid-term and long-term goals for the accounting department consistent with the objectives of the company and its other departments
- Assists with Fixed Assets, Bank Reconciliations, Sales & Use Taxes, Business Licenses and Goodwill & Intangibles
- Analyze financial information and prepare accounting reconciliations and schedules
- Perform various account reconciliations as assigned
- Reconcile bank and credit card general ledger accounts daily and monthly against applicable statements, reconcile corporate credit card
- Initiate emails to Pharmacist in Charge (“PIC”) and corporate personnel requesting all card transactions as reflected on card site within the accounting period to be reviewed to ensure posting of invoices to accounting system
- Assist PIC with credit card research and reconciliation of credit card transmissions
- Assist Staff Accountant with generation of Covered Entity Statements and assist accounts payable clerk as needed with Mailing Checks
- Assist with special project Responsibilities: Account Reconciliation, Accrued Expenses, Prepaid Expenses, Accounts Payable, Daily Cash, Reconcile and verify bank deposits and payments
- Recurring journal entries and related reconciliations; Code and enter Corporate Credit Cards Weekly Cash Import
- Record weekly inventory purchases weekly into AP
- Reconcile and record travel expenses Other projects as assigned
- Perform other accounting duties for the team
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or higher degree in Accounting or equivalent
- 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Pharmacy or healthcare experience preferred, but not required
- Proficient at communicating both verbally (on phone, one-on-one, to groups) and in writing (emails, letters, reports, presentations) to various audiences (work group, team, company management, external clients)
- Intermediate level skill experience in Microsoft Excel, advanced skill level preferred
- Experience with NAV, and Crystal Reports or SRS preferred
- Experience developing ways of accomplishing goals with little or no supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives and determining when escalation of issues is necessary
