Job Description

We are looking for a talented Sr Supplier Quality Improvement Engineer to join our team specializing in Supplier Quality as part of a new Class 1 program supporting our Engine Product.  This position is primarily based in Columbus,Indiana but will consider REMOTE work for candidate located in the midwest within proximity of the plant.

 

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

 

* Selects, develops, manages, and ensures defect-free performance of the business’ supplier base with the objective of overall quality improvement. Leads processes to drive improvements. Resolves supplier quality issues.

* Participates in supplier evaluation, selection, and strategic sourcing process development.

* Responsible for the supplier corrective action process including containment, root cause analysis, and corrective action.

* Ensures suppliers use quality tools effectively.

* Works with supplier to ensure all product requirements are met.

* Oversees the supplier quality resources for new product introduction and current products to reduce supplier related issues, improve process capabilities, and ensure timely project launches.

* Responsible for determining if all requirements are met by the supplier for new or changed products.

* Measures supplier quality performance according to established procedures; drives appropriate improvements to meet established targets.

* Facilitates continuous improvement activities to reduce defects.

 

 

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

 

* Intermediate level of relevant work experience required, 6+years’ experience

* Experience working on a Class 1 program, leading APQP and PPAP with Medium and High-risk suppliers.

* Experience supporting prototype builds by completing Source Releases.

* Experience inputting risk assessments, supplier selection, input into M-Reviews, Supplier visits, and FIRG resolution.

* Experience with Zero Defect Mentality (ZDM) process preferred.

* College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject required.

 

 

Compensation and Benefits

 

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
