We’re seeking a future team member in the role of Senior Specialist, Full-Stack Developer to join our PERSHING team. This role is in Jersey City, NJ – HYBRID.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
Provides application software development services or technical support.
Understands and follows the Software Development Life Cycle.
Writes new programs, working with standard application system designs and specifications and utilizing standard procedures and techniques.
Designs and codes programs.
Prepares and executes test cases and revises programs as necessary.
Documents installation and operating procedures.
Interfaces with architects to design, code, test and implement application programs.
Proposes innovative, creative technology solutions. Contributes to the achievement of team objectives.
Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt quickly to changes.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), good interpersonal skills.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
Extensive experience with JavaScript/Typescript, Angular, Material and CSS
Extensive Java, Spring, J2EE, Spring Boot and other distributed technologies n-tier application experience
SQL skills with experience in Oracle
Experience with Microservice based, Micro front ends & REST API
Experience with Tomcat, Linux, Cloud. Gitlab (git + CI/CD), MAVEN, SVN
Experience with integrating various systems e.g., mainframes, web services etc.
Experience with Tomcat, WebSphere and/or WebLogic
Experience with automate build tools and continuous integration (Maven, Jenkins, etc.) strongly desired.
Work experience in Agile and Waterfall environments
Knowledge of IntelliJ, VSC, Docker, Splunk
Knowledge of XML/XSL
Knowledge with middleware & Enterprise Messaging Systems such as MQ
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. 7-9 years of experience in software development required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus. Job holder must have understanding interdependencies and business impact of future IT plans. S/he must have prior lead experience selecting and implementing vendor-specific methodologies and prior consulting experience with structured methodologies. Job holder must have broad experience with multi-platform development tools and toolkits.

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $89,500 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
