JOB FAMILY DESCRIPTION
Designing, modeling, developing and supporting SQL Database Management Systems (DBMS) and ETL processes. Responsible for creating new SQL Server ETL processes and for improving the current application’s performances through SQL development. The SQL Developer III will create processes that load databases, will monitor servers and recommend tuning for per formance, build custom SQL solutions, and assist with architecting SQL systems.

Candidate will be expected to work in the Glendale office at least 2 days a week if preferring to be based our Irvine office.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Analyzes data requirements, application and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schema(s) and recommends design and improvements.
* Develops code modules and logic to process corporate data and support batch processes.
* Designs, develops, amends, optimizes, and certifies SQL and other database schema design to meet system(s) requirements.
* Gathers, analyzes, and normalizes relevant information related to, and from business processes, functions, and operations to evaluate data credibility and determine relevance and meaning.
* Develops SQL or other types of database and warehousing designs across multiple platforms and computing environments.
* Develops an overall data architecture that supports the information needs of the business in a flexible but secure environment.
* Provides on call support for specific jobs and processes.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL GUIDELINES
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
* Experience in database architecture, data modeling and schema design with recent focus with MS SQL
* Advanced experience in SQL with desired experience in Power Shell, R, or Python
* Experience with ETL development
* Experience in SSIS and SSRS a plus
* Experience with TFS a plus
* Experience in data analysis, data warehousing, business intelligence or data modeling a plus
* Strong knowledge of relational database concepts, SQL, and data modeling techniques
* Experience in orchestrating the coordination of data related activities to ensure on-time delivery of data solutions to support the business including job scheduling, data activity planning, risk mitigation, and issue resolution
* Experience in utilizing performance tuning tools
* Experience working with both on and offshore teams a plus
* Knowledge of cloud architecture, AWS, Azure, or Linux / Hadoop a plus
* Familiar with data standards/procedures and data governance and how the governance and data quality policies can be implemented in data integration projects
* Ability to problem solve, multitask and communicate at all levels of the organization.

Database Analyst II
Intermediate professional role. Designs and supports DBMS of low to medium complexity performed within a broad technical and business context. Works on one or more projects as a project team member or sometimes as a project leader. May coach more junior technical staff. Typically requires four (4) years of work experience in DBA, DBMS design and support and relevant computing environments.
