Our Flexible Technical Service team, based out of the Centre for Performance Applications in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking a qualified candidate to support flexible film markets.

You Will Use Your Expertise To:

  • Actively apply and support Responsible Care®, principles and procedures.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers by:
    • Collaborating with them to identify their technical and business needs
    • Recommending and assisting with resin selection suitable for specific applications, qualification, troubleshooting and process optimization
    • Ensuring customer satisfaction through timely and effective resolution of customer complaints
  • Leading Application Development and Circular Economy projects to support NOVA’s Market Focus Team objectives
  • Supporting Marketing and Sales on a variety of initiatives (e.g., development of sales tools)
  • Contributing to various product quality related initiatives
  • Engaging and actively participating in industry associations and presenting at conferences
  • Collaborating with value chain partners such as equipment suppliers, convertors, and brand owners

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree with 5+ years of related experience OR technical school diploma with 8+ years of related practical experience
  • Multilayer films and flexible packaging experience are considered an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships
  • Well-developed communication skills including presentation and technical writing skills
  • Ability to work effectively and collaborate in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrable history of strong performance in previous roles
  • Well-developed critical thinking skills
  • Innovative approach to work with an aptitude for thinking out of the box
  • Ability to lead projects
  • Effective time management/organizational skills
  • Strong business acumen

Additional Information:

  • This position may be located at any NOVA Chemicals locations and may be based out of a home office in an approved location on a full-time basis in Canada or the U.S.
  • Possess a valid Canadian driver’s license and be eligible to travel easily between Canada and the U.S. without a need for a VISA (i.e., Canadian or US passport)
  • Travel up to 50% of the time throughout the U.S. and Canada

The NOVA Chemicals technology center is located in Calgary, Alberta.  The state-of-the-art facilities, comprised of the Centre for Applied Research and Centre for Performance Applications, focus to support technological advancements in the polyolefins and olefins fields.

The technology center is recognized as the largest in Canada.
