Full-Time Social Media Manager
Job Description
The Social Media Manager is responsible for bringing the iconic Brooklyn Brewery brand to life in line with the marketing vision and strategy across all social channels, in a way that excites and engages both existing and new consumers. This role will work closely with the Creative Director to create, execute, and optimize the social media strategy, in order to grow Brooklyn’s presence and build community. They’ll do this by constantly analyzing the social media landscape and bringing new tools, best practices, and creative suggestions to the table as they own and evolve our organic social content and approach.
This person serves as Brooklyn’s social brand guardian. This involves setting the global strategy, building the content plan, creating best in class content, and ultimately ensuring Brooklyn’s content aligns with marketing and sales goals. Core responsibilities include social strategy and campaign building, day-to-day content generation and management, identifying social trends, and reporting performance. This position will play a key role in communicating our brand, products, and values.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
Content Generation
Generate content and execute social media strategy across Brooklyn Brewery’s social platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram & TikTok), tailoring the content best to each channel:
- Shoot photo and video content to be shared across channels
- Manage social content calendar for all platforms, i.e. creating, sourcing and scheduling exceptional content
- Lead communication with global markets to ensure consistent, on-brand content
- Monitor social media trends, and propose new tools, developments, and practices
- Monitor trends in the CPG/beverage industry and beyond, and assess their potential to translate into Brooklyn’s social media plan
Analytics and Reporting
Track and report Brooklyn Brewery’s growth across all platforms and optimize social strategy based on those learnings:
- Delivery quarterly reports to leadership and global teams to summarize performance, insights and learnings
- Review and evaluate post performance and audience response to inform future campaigns
- Benchmark Brooklyn Brewery’s social performance against leading competitors and ensure the brand remains competitive in the space
Campaign Building
Utilize Brooklyn Brewery’s social channels to build comprehensive organic campaigns that support brand priorities:
- In coordination with the Creative Director, create and execute social media launch plans for product releases, events, campaigns, and other brand initiatives
- Partner with our paid media and PR partners to align paid and organic social approaches and create high-performing content for each
- Report on campaign engagement and effectiveness
Community Management
Regularly monitor Brooklyn Brewery’s social media channels:
- Use monitoring tools like Later/Sprout/HootSuite to respond to comments and engage with our community
- Answer/redirect any inquiries that come in via Brooklyn’s social media platforms in a timely manner to the right folks internally
- Foster community engagement on Brooklyn’s social handles
- Build social media influencer network and manage outreach
- At least 4 years of professional social media experience, preferably at a consumer brand
- A thorough understanding of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok
- Engage consistently with social media and employ a proactive understanding of emerging digital trends
- Video and photo content creation skills, and familiarity with Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, Premiere)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft pithy captions as well as thoughtful responses in a consistent TOV
- Familiarity with Brooklyn culture, especially surrounding music, food, and art
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
