Job Role: Senior Fundraiser – Individual Giving
Salary: £29,000 per year
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Contract type: Permanent
Location: South West, Hybrid role, with 2-3 days per week working in either our Bath or Exeter office each week.
Additional information:
- Travel between our office hubs in Bath and Exeter, and across the region in line with business needs
- When our fundraising events fall on a evening/weekend, some evening/weekend work may be required
The Role:
Julian House has developed a loyal and generous supporter base over the past 35 years, which has helped the charity get where it is today. Now, as we move into our next stage of growth, with an ambition to reach 10,000 vulnerable and at-risk people by 2026, we want to shift gear on our fundraising to drive exponential growth.
We are looking for someone who can help develop our approach to individual giving, increasing the lifetime value of our supporters’ donations. You will be part of a small fundraising team where each member is given autonomy to innovate in their area and establish ambitious strategies for growth.
Your strong instincts for marketing and profile-raising will enable you to create events, stories and campaigns which win people over to our cause; while your ability to track and analyse data will help us to craft supporter journeys which mean people stick with Julian House for the long-term. Your objective will be to to attract and steward supporters from their first gift, through to becoming a regular giver and, ultimately, leaving a legacy to Julian House.
Responsibilities include:
- Working with the Senior Fundraising Manager to develop an individual giving strategy that increases donor acquisition, engagement, and income
- Creating inspiring engagement opportunities and marketing materials to engage potential and existing donors with our work
- Exploring and establishing new mechanisms for donor acquisition, online and offline
- Project managing our bi-annual individual giving appeals, working with colleagues to design inspiring campaigns that generate six-figure income
- Carry out, within reason, any other duties and undertake other organisational duties, which are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Experience leading fundraising activity relating to individual giving, regular giving and/or legacies
- Experience of creating marketing materials / events which inspire behaviour change or donations
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to represent your organisation to a range of stakeholders and create high-quality written content for fundraising
We appreciate that candidates my not have experience in all these areas, but should be able to demonstrate how previous experience could be transferred into this context.
