We are looking for a Senior Diagnostic Service Engineer- Electrified Power Business to join our team specializing in Cummins Electrified Power Business in Columbus, IN.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
• Applies specialized knowledge of diagnostic principles and practices to develop, maintain, and lead: diagnostic verification and validation plans, high-quality troubleshooting information, and complex diagnostic projects for Cummins products and systems. Provides coaching and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
• Applies diagnostic expertise to resolve complex service diagnostic problems and provides diagnostic direction for projects, team, or program-related decisions.
• Develops and maintains well written troubleshooting instructions, diagnostic descriptions, and wiring diagrams by taking feedback provided by experts and technicians and performing the investigatory work necessary to determine the optimal results.
• Leads small or portions of large diagnostic projects. Influences decisions at department or program management level.
• Troubleshoots complex diagnostic problems and recommends appropriate actions.
• Identifies trends and initiates the work necessary to improve troubleshooting materials and service diagnostic tools.
• Communicates proposed troubleshooting publication changes for peer review and approval. Engages cross functionally with internal and external teams to build collaborative relations and diagnostic documentation alignment.
• Mentors and shares knowledge with the less experienced members on the team.
• Maintains the library of troubleshooting information as products evolve, experience is gained and feedback is provided on the operation and servicing of the equipment.
• Writes procedures effectively with translations in mind.

Education, Licenses, Certifications
University or equivalent degree in Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience required.

Experience
Intermediate level of relevant work experience (4 plus years) required.
• Customer focus – Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions. Supporting new product development areas – service tools, diagnostics for engine controls modules etc.
• Manages complexity – Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems. Troubleshooting skills.
• Electronic Service Tool Development – Explains scope of all primary electronic troubleshooting tools to understand which tools are applicable; identifies clear and robust design requirements by following the required process to ensure design meets or exceeds requirements; develops and executes test plans to validate the service tool.
• Action oriented – Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
• Collaborates – Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
• Communicates effectively – Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
• Self-development – Actively seeking new ways to grow and be challenged using both formal and informal development channels.

Note: 10-20% travel to western US in this role.
