JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

Comcast Applied AI Research is an innovative research group within Comcast’s Technology & Product organization with offices in Washington, DC, Philadelphia, Denver and Chicago that engages in groundbreaking research to re-invent customer experience for Comcast’s 22+ Million consumers using AI and machine learning.

 

As a Software Engineer in the Natural Language Processing (NLP) group, you would join a small, autonomous team of researchers and engineers to build the core algorithms powering a voice platform used by millions of people every day. We use advanced Machine Learning (ML) to build a conversational NLP system that understands the user’s intent, whether they are looking for the latest movies or trying to access their bill. You would be part of our rapidly growing Applied AI research and engineering team that is responsible for the full stack and operationalization of high-profile products and services at Comcast.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Implement new features for the core NLP engine powering many Xfinity products and services, including the Xfinity voice remote and the Xfinity Assistant.
  • Design, develop, test and deploy REST services that support integration between our NLP system, and other online services.
  • Serve as technical contact and liaison for our internal customers and product managers.
  • Tackle problems that arise in production code and find solutions.
  • Mentor entry-level engineers and interns.
  • Collaborates with teams outside of immediate work group. Represents the work team in providing solutions to technical issues associated with assigned projects.
  •  Provides guidance and leadership to more junior engineers.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Job Specification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Statistics
  • Generally requires 5-8 years related experience
