Ticketing Services

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Ticketing Operations, this position will serve as a key department member, providing system and operational support for TIFF year-round programming, third-party events, and the Festival in September. Success in this position requires understanding the needs of TIFF and its audiences and the drive to advance and learn new technology continually.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work with system administrators with the creation, functionality, and auditing of TIFF and 3rd party events in Archtics.
    • Supervise the day-to-day operations of an administrative team. 
    • Oversee the fulfillment of internal ticketing orders.
    • Work with Sr. Manager to define processes and approaches and help the team refine these when issues or inefficiencies are found.
    • Work with Sr. Manager to lead, train, develop and empower team members.
    • Lead by example using a “one team” approach; ensure departmental integrity and vision are intact.
    • Translate business needs into system realities. Establish and maintain the structures. Seating holds and pricing for all TIFF activities that take place in our ticketing systems.
    • Represent interests of ticketing as a whole in multi-departmental committees and working groups.
    • Work with other internal departments to create Festival Accreditation access for Festival events.
    • Troubleshoot software issues quickly and escalate appropriately.
    • Contribute to the overall success of Ticket Operations by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required. 

JOB GRADE & SALARY OR RATE OF PAY:

  • Job Grade 2
  • 50,000-65,000/Annually

 TARGET START DATE:

  • January 3, 2023 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of event creation experience with Ticketmaster Systems and/or various ticketing systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Box Office operations, including 2-3 years of supervisor-level work experience.
  • Ability to provide leadership and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritize under tight timelines while ensuring accurate completion of assigned work.
  • Self-starter with the ability to problem-solve, independent learner with a solid ability to communicate to multiple levels in an organization.
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills with the ability to handle several tasks and deadlines.
  • Shown to perform well under pressure.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Demonstrated pride in accuracy and efficiency.

    • Establish and maintain solid working relationships with all internal teams. Keep stakeholders informed and involved in all relevant stages of builds, both in established processes and in new implementations.

    • Understand system structure and inherent limitations to translate business requirements effectively, and to determine root causes for issues.

    • Understand ticketing core competencies – seating/maps, holds, pricing.
    • Understand, implement and enforce rules around online access and sale structure.
    • Work confidently with intermediate-level database/spreadsheet tools and concepts (e.g. pivot tables, joins, etc.)

    • Provide training and mentorship to team members.

    • Continuously work to improve the audience experience in ticketing as new options and technologies are provided by the vendor.
    • Think creatively about new or unexpected ways to leverage existing or potential technologies to benefit TIFF or its audiences.

    • Ability to plan builds end-to-end including timelines, resourcing and scope of work.
  • adaptable to a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends
  • This position requires being in office on a regular basis.
