Full-Time Security Manager

Summary

The Wikimedia Foundation is looking for a Security Manager to join our team, reporting to the  Director of Security.  As the Security Manager, you will be responsible lead the capabilities management pillar of the Security and Privacy teams. In this role you will be responsible for helping manage the Security team while informing and developing our capabilities management pillar for the Security team. Activities include engineering and project management, helping to inform and improve services across Security and developing and operationalizing services such as security awareness, audit and the fusion center.

You are responsible for:

  • Coach engineers in being effective at meeting their goals
  • Develop goals and track progress publicly and collaboratively
  • Represent team members within the organization
  • Coordinate with other teams and departments on security and privacy initiatives
  • Enable team members in developing their career paths
  • Recruit and hire new team members
  • Evaluate current security and privacy services and suggest and implement new capabilities
  • Inform and build team health initiatives
  • Build and support Security Awareness program

Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years of leadership experience
  • 3-5+ years experience supervising software engineering teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with security and privacy services and their development
  • Prior project and program management experience
  • Experience leading projects and developing services and programs using an agile methodology
  • Experience in informing and building team health initiatives
