JOB FAMILY DESCRIPTION
We are actively seeking a Secondary Analyst who will work directly with our clients to complete loan committing, pipeline hedging, performance reporting and data analysis all while managing the client relationship.
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Conducts system monitoring, system admin maintenance, exception management, and system audits
* Ensures all committing and pool trading for full hedge clients is completed in a timely and accurate manner, and in accordance with client needs/expectations.
* Perform loan sale best-execution analysis on behalf of clients, using Optimal Blue software.
* Execute loan trades/commitments on behalf of clients, via bulk, agency commitment, and other various methods
* Analyze and explain P/L performance reporting
* Ensures all pipeline risk hedging and trade maintenance is completed in accordance with OBSS SOPs and/or client specifications.
* Performs ad hoc analysis regarding P/L and other hedging analytics for customers and OBSS.
* Researches and resolves P/L variances/issues, including day/day MTM Variance and longer-term P/L volatility.
* Completes client reviews are documentation
* Ensure new client implementations and ongoing training are managed and completed in a timely and efficient manner.
* Ensure that client communications are addressed in a timely manner, and that regular client calls are properly staffed
* Ensure all assigned special projects are completed in allotted time.
EDUCATIONAL GUIDELINES
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Mathematics or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience. Master’s degree is preferred.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
* Knowledge of Black Knight and Optimal Blue products and services preferred
* Ability to learn and comprehend the mortgage origination process, mortgage securities and markets through on-the-job training
* Knowledge of Mortgage Secondary Markets including best execution of whole loan, MBS and retained/released sales methods
* Deep analytical and anticipatory thinking and innovation: Aptitude to anticipate and solve unique system, position, and performance problems and invent new ways to look at these areas
* Knowledge of the fundamentals of rate sheet and margin management
* Knowledge of proprietary mortgage risk management, valuation analytics, and account management.
* Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels within Black Knight (e.g., executive, management, individual contributors) as well as outside the organization.
* Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills.
* Positive outlook, strong work ethic, and responsive to internal and external customers and contacts.
Hedge Analyst I
Entry-level professional role into the job family. Works under immediate supervision with limited latitude for independent judgment. Identifies non-routine issues and routes/escalates to appropriate team member. Supports products and/or services and has knowledge of products and services offered to the assigned client, customer, etc. Works on a few concurrent projects of low to medium complexity. Is an active team member, contributes to projects of low to medium complexity to gain additional experience, shares ideas, and may suggest process improvements as appropriate. Under supervision, develops, communicates and executes hedging strategies designed to offset changes in the fair value of the company’s Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSRs) in order to maintain a net exposure profile that is consistent with the company’s overall risk appetite and within specific Board-approved risk tolerances for the MSR asset. Typically r equires up to three (3) years of fixed income mortgage trading, portfolio or risk management experience.
