DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are looking for a talented Robustness Optimization Leader to join our team specializing in Simulation Based Product Development for Cummins Tech Center in Columbus, IN (potential remote within travel distance).

 

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

* Define and execute Simulation Based Product Development key initiatives on “Driving Robustness for Customer Uses” to improve quality and efficiency while ensuring product compliance.

* Engage business units to develop and execute a 5-year roadmap to develop products that are truly robust to sources of variation.

* Identify, plan & engage in projects which develop, apply & refine solutions within active programs – focusing on high impact business needs.

* Incorporate relevant aspects of advancements outside of Cummins into the 5-year roadmap.  Be recognized as a worldwide technical expert.

* Be the key change champion to lead Cummins robustness capability improvement efforts globally and provides technical leadership for the business’s most complex global technical challenges.

* Coaches and mentors the future technical leaders across multiple global business units and levels within Cummins.

* Coordinates and directs the work of cross functional, large scale global project teams.

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

 

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

* Manages complexity – make sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.

 

Education/Experience

* College, university, or equivalent bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required.

* Six Sigma Certification, Design of Experiments and Robust Design Experiments

* 10+ years professional experience in Engineering/Product Development required.

* Cross Business Unit/Function/Region experience within a matrixed environment needed.

* Experience in engine system performance/controls desired.

* Demonstrated capability and experience leading a global initiative to fruition desired.

 

Compensation and Benefits

 

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
