SIMPLY HOME is an award-winning interior design firm and 8,000 square foot high-end furniture retail showroom. We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic and passionate Retail Sales Associate for our Falmouth, Maine location. We sell furniture, case goods, lighting, wallpaper, fabric, carpet, home décor accessories and of course our design services! We’re looking for a bright, enthusiastic, salesperson to join our retail team and the daily operations of the showroom.

Job Summary/Overview: The role of retail sales associate entails assisting customers, opening and closing the storefront, tagging and placing inventory, maintenance of storefront and products, acting as liaison between retail customers, vendors and design team, becoming familiar with various vendor products and policies.

What you’ll do:

• Greet and assist customers with selections and follow through on orders
• Enter orders, follow up on backorders, invoice orders, and schedule deliveries
• Gain thorough knowledge of all current and new product lines
• Maintain visual standards and cleanliness of showroom and samples library
• Work cooperatively in team environment
• Upsell clients when possible
• Unpacking of new merchandise, tagging and staging in showroom
• Assist with keeping receiving area neat and clean for all incoming inventory
• Store opening and closing procedures
• Work cooperatively in team environment
• Drive sales by delivering outstanding customer service and providing persistent attention to detail in assisting and selling goods to customers

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

• Minimum 3-5 years retail experience, luxury brand preferred
• Interior design and/or furniture sales experience preferred
• Great outgoing personality with ability to open and connect with customers
• Comfortability in selling furniture and our design services to walk in clientele
• The confidence and skills to communicate your ideas clearly and concisely, fluent verbal and written English
• A passion for customer service. Nurturing and managing the customer experience from start to finish
• Strong self motivation & high level of attention to detail
• The ability to work as a team and proactively by yourself
• Ability to multi-task and juggle several projects, customers and day to day issues concurrently
• Strong Mac skills; Quickbooks, Gmail, Word & Excel preferred
• Polished appearance; well-presented, has good taste of fashion
• Flexible work schedule, weekend availability a must – Saturdays 10-2
• Industry experience preferred
• Must have a valid drivers license
• I-9 qualified to work in the US

Physical/Sensory Requirements:
Physical Work – ability to exert 30-60 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

High School Diploma
