The Task At Hand:
The Research & Development (R&D) Coordinator will provide administrative support to the R&D team, completing tasks such as data entry, formula reviews, ingredient assessments, and R&D inventory replenishment. This role will also handle sample shipments, team timeline management, and other duties as needed.
In This Role, You Will:
• Assist in the planning and oversight of projects and initiatives to ensure they are running as planned, including coordinating tasks, resources, deliverables, and timelines.
• Conduct initial ingredient assessments by comparing documentation to the current source, recommending an evaluation plan based on the initial assessment, and completing any baseline screens if needed.
• Collaborate with Quality to understand consumer complaint patterns and report recurring issues to the R&D team.
• Manage R&D-related quality concern resolutions from start to finish collaboratively with the Quality and Operations teams.
• Prepare product specifications, finalize formulas for commercialization, and complete TraceGains approvals.
• Assist in creating and maintaining document change control forms for formulas and finished products.
• Support coordination of procurement, review, and reporting on competitive samples for testing and evaluation.
• Assist in creating and maintaining accurate database entries for new and existing ingredients.
• Lead the raw material and finished goods testing program, including managing submission forms and organizing results in collaboration with the Quality team.
• Coordinate inventory replenishment for the R&D team.
• Organize and oversee sensory and shelf-life studies for finished goods.
• Manage shipping labels and scheduling pickups.
• Review labels and nutrition fact panels as needed.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
In This Role, You’ll Bring With You:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience, preferred.
• 2-4 years of professional experience in R&D, Food Science, and/or related areas within the Food CPG industry required.
• Prior professional experience in data entry or comparable administrative tasks required.
• Previous exposure to Product Development or Quality functions preferred.
• Prior professional experience gathering, processing, interpreting, and telling a story with data.
• Superior organizational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative group setting, knowing how to be a team player.
• Strong sense of punctuality and the ability to follow instructions.
• Desire to keep work area clean and organized.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to think quickly and independently, also being conversationally agile.
• 10% travel required: Although this role is a remote work-from-home position, we “Farmers” do meet as a company and as a team a few times a year.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Outlook, Slack, and other professional platforms.
• Genuine passion for improving childhood nutrition for a healthier and happier planet.
• Previous exposure to cross-functional work between Sustainability and Research & Development preferred.
• Desire to contribute to a dynamic high-growth, purpose-driven environment.
• Must reside in the United States to be considered for this position.

Compensation:
• Exempt, Full-Time, Salaried.
• The anticipated salary range for this position is $80,000.00 to $95,000.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a few factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses, stipends, equity, and role-specific perks.
