JOB FAMILY DESCRIPTION
Tracks, reviews and communicates pending and enacted laws, regulations, agency guidelines or directives to impacted lines of business and assists in setting priorities for regulatory issues that must be addressed by the businesses. Responds to issues and matters pertaining to regulatory compliance of Black Knight prod ucts, services and business activities. Performs periodic reviews and evaluations of Black Knight products, services and business activities to validate compliance with applicable laws and regulations or detect regulatory violations, inadequate controls or other potential areas of exposure. Develops company responses to potential security incidents, complaints, investigations and administrative proceedings. Conducts investigations.
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Monitors and provides updates on regulatory changes, including those related to data privacy, that impact Black Knight products, services and business activities.
* Maintains current knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations (including state data breach statutes), with a focus on privacy and data security.
* Conducts privacy impact assessments designed to identify and minimize privacy risks associated with Black Knight’s products, services and business activities.
* Provides analysis and guidance on implementing regulatory changes.
* Communicates detailed regulatory requirements to businesses, the Information Security Office, Enterprise Risk Management and other affected corporate control groups.
* Monitors and validates Black Knight’s business activities for compliance with laws and regulations governing privacy and data security.
* Provides regulatory reviews and direction for new and expanding products and services, including internally consumed products and services.
* Conducts regulatory assessments and provides direction for remediating any deficiencies noted by those assessments.
* Provides analysis and guidance on information security incidents.
* Meets with management on a regular basis for status updates on regulatory issues.
* Monitors businesses’ compliance activities to verify that regulatory compliance deadlines and requirements are met.
* Tracks and validates regulatory compliance remediation activities from initiation to completion.
* Advises on legal and regulatory matters, with emphasis on privacy and data security.
* Drafts and reviews regulatory filings, terms of service, privacy policies, disclaimers and other disclosures for products and services.
* Coordinates with legal counsel, federal, state, and local agencies, as needed, to address regulatory or compliance issues, concerns or questions.
* Assists the businesses with responses to regulatory questions and concerns, including monitoring of business and employee inquiries pertaining to privacy and data security.
* Participates in and/or leads client focus and advisory groups.
* Prepares and/or approves internal, marketing and client communications covering regulatory compliance issues (bulletins, position statements, monthly reports, etc.).
* Develops company responses to complaints, investigations and administrative proceedings.
* Reviews contractual provisions related to data security, privacy and confidentiality.
* Conducts investigations.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONAL GUIDELINES
Requires a law degree from an accredited U.S. law school and admission to practice law in the appropriate jurisdiction.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
* Requires demonstrated experience in drafting privacy notices, transactional documents, technology agreements, intellectual property, risk and other documents specific to the financial, computer and technology industry.
* Specific knowledge and demonstrated practical experience in regulatory environment affecting technology service providers, mortgage servicing and financial services, with an emphasis on data security and privacy laws.
* Experience working with regulators in the U.S. and/or abroad.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to draft messages that are readily understood by disparate audiences.
* Effectively deal with compliance issues that are complex, confidential and sensitive in nature.
* Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and time management skills.
* Intermediate to advanced negotiation skills with regard to complex regulatory issues and data security.
JOB FAMILY LEVEL
Intermediate professional role. Intermediate skills with moderate level of proficiency. Researches and advises on enterprise rules and regulations to resolve a variety of issues. Exercises judgment with regulatory requirements to determine appropriate action. Works under supervision of senior counsel. Conducts research and assists with investigations. Typically requires five (5) or more years of experience as a practicing attorney.
