PURPOSE:
As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, the RDN provides nutritional care to clients on an as-needed basis to ensure the nutritional needs of the individuals are being met and documentation, as it relates to their nutritional status, is complete and accurate.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conducts patient nutrition assessments on assigned client population.
- Manages the development and implementation plan for nutrition intervention in accordance with industry standards.
- Compiling information and tracking individual progress towards their health goals.
- Ensure all client information is properly charted and documented.
- Provides nutritional counseling for individuals, taking into consideration cultural, religious, and ethnic concerns.
- Provide appropriate follow-ups in accordance with the individual’s nutritional goals and make changes as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong knowledge of nutrition and dietetics, including the nutritional requirements of individuals of varying ages, cultures, and degrees of health.
- Work effectively and efficiently in an independent role.
- Strong organization and customer service skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills including ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy, and appropriate confidentiality in handling sensitive situations.
- Ability to think creatively and independently to develop client solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field.
- Must be a registered dietician with the Commission on Dietic Registration (CDR) or the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics (AND) in the State of Texas.
- Minimum of 3 years counseling individual clients, 2 years’ experience in a clinical setting a plus.
- NPI & CAQH numbers required.
- Digital health experience preferred.
- Bilingual, Spanish a plus.
GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
General office working conditions can be remote work from home or in the office. Each department head determines if position is work from home or hybrid meaning works from home and in the office as needed. Work schedules vary. When working in the office pod workstation area has little or no privacy. Involves extended periods of sitting at a workstation performing computer duties. Constant flow of interruptions by personnel, visitors to the area and telephone calls. Private workstations are available as needed. Certain positions are assigned to an office.
