Global Financial Firm located in Tampa, Fl, Irving, TX, Jersey City, NJ, Mississauga, ON has an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced Quant Developer

This role is currently work-from-home and will move to the office environment after the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. must have reliable internet, computer and android or iphone for remote access

Quant Developer/Analyst/Python

INTERMEDIATE PYTHON TEST MUST BE INCLUDED. DO NOT SUBMIT CANDIDATES WHO SCORED LESS THAN 85 OR TOOK A LONG TIME TO COMPLETE. THE ENTIRE TEST MUST BE INCLUDED WITH RESUME SUBMITTAL – NO SUMMARIES.

NOTES:
-looking for 3-7 years of experience in financial risk. No looking for very senior people.
– 70-80% development using mainly python, 20-30% financial risk management product scenario design/implementation
-candidates that want to modeling primarily will not be a good fit, they will do some modeling but small percentage.
Rob is focused on Python and not C++, and does require the quant/finance background, Rob is more focused on software engineering & data than one building models.
• Strong python
• Unix dev/deployment environment – not someone who is primarily a windows dev with a little unix
• Risk, Derivatives knowledge
• Strong communication skills
• Not a hardcore quant role, but requires quant knowledge to succeed. Area is scenario-based stress testing.
• Education: MS in math, physics, CS, engineering, financial engineering, …

Key Responsibilities:

Risk Technology is looking for a Python quant developer/analyst. The candidate will help develop advanced scenario generation and valuation models for Counterparty Credit Risk Management. The role requires excellent communication skills, strong analytical problem solving abilities, solid academic background and fundamental programming skills. Knowledge of financial products and markets is essential to succeed in this role.

Core responsibilities include:

” Design and implement scenario and stress-testing software services
” Develop expertise in the firms standard quantitative framework
” Manage multiple tasks effectively and independently to meet deadlines

Job Skills / Qualifications:

” Advanced degree (MS or equivalent) in a quantitative field such as Math, Statistics, Physics, Computational Finance, Engineering, Computer Science
” Minimum of 6 years of software development experience, which doesnt all have to be in Python
” 3+ recent years of hands-on software development experience in Python (expert programmer)
” Familiarity with OTC Product space knowledge of fundamental traded products, valuation methodologies, market data, basic risk management concepts
” Strong experience developing software on Linux; standard unix tools, such as make, bash scripting, git
” Some source control, e.g. git
” Able to communicate and interact effectively with technical counterparts in IT and the firm quant group
” Well-organized, and able to meet delivery commitments
” Experience using standard Python libraries such as pandas, numpy, flask
